Being a LUX Woman

I’ve been fortunate enough to be part of the Lux She Who Dare’s campaign, but now that I’ve come to the very last post of the series I’ve developed writers block. That happens when you have so much to say but unfortunately can’t say it all. It’s 2am and I’m sitting on revision number 982874 of this post, and I’m not happy with the direction it is going either. Trash! Put simply I’m not in a good place. So I think the best thing to do it just write from the heart. Right?

Spirited. Fearless. Confident. Unapologetically Authentic. Free. These are just some adjectives which come to mind when I envision a LUX woman. Although I aspire to be all of these things and still continue working on my self to get there I feel like there’s something missing that’s important. The will to not only make your life better, but the lives of those around you better too. I’m so jealous of people who can confidently say they are living their purpose. They know what “it" is and have found a way to live it every day of their lives. I’m jealous because I haven’t quite put all the puzzle pieces togethers to figure out what exactly my purpose is. I’m a work in progress. Some way or another I know my purpose involves helping other people and spreading love. (Could I be any more vague?) Maybe my purpose today is to help you figure out your purpose 😃

We’re living in a time where people are so caught up in being seen as social influencers, that I wonder if they’ve ever thought of harnessing that “influence” and bringing about change in one of the many social issues we face. Let’s strive to be social activists instead. I get so excited when I see people being more than Twitter Activists and retweeting a hashtag. Let’s donate clothes to the less fortunate, use the skills you have to tutor young learners, impart knowledge on one another and bring about social change together.

Being a LUX woman isn't only about the best version of yourself, but more importantly it's about determining how you can be the version of yourself for other people to bring about change
