I don’t have my life together

and I  don’t really care. It’s so easy to look at a colleague, acquaintance, or someone in your age bracket (or worse younger than you) and think they have their lives all sorted out. For me, it’s usually because she just landed a well-paying job, bought a flashy car, moved into her own place, got engaged or is moving overseas. These are the levels we perceive of having your life on track. All of these are lovely things to happen to a person (and I can’t wait for them to happen to me) but it’s silly to use these as some sort of measurement of  a perfect life. More often than not you have no idea what they had to do and go through to get there. Life can seem pretty rosy from your point of view looking in, but unless you’re in their shoes you really have no idea. So I stopped paying attention to what other women have and how well they're doing and started focusing on what I wanted and where I want to go. I placed so much emphasis on a life plan or hit list that I began to wonder if it gives me space to explore things that I may not even know I want for myself yet. You don’t know what you don’t know until you do. Having some sort of plan is good as guidance but I needed to allow myself room for growth, changing course and discovering myself.

Johari’s Window is a technique used to help people better understand themselves. Four windows are used to illustrated yourself. The first pane is where you jot down things about you which are known to you and known to others. The second  pane is for things that are known by you but unknown to others. The third is for things about you which are unknown to you but known to others. The fourth and final part of the quadrant is what interests me the most. There are things about you, characteristics, gifts you possess (maybe even a few things you are terrible at) which are unknown by you and unknown by others too. If your life plan is too rigid, when will you have the opportunity to explore that dark, unknown quadrant?

So my plan is still in place but it’s a very loose plan, because although I know where I want to end up I don’t know how I’m going to get there. And I don’t want to spend my journey worrying about my route when I could be enjoying the ride.

See, I told you I don’t have my life together.

I am living for these water print leggings from Fit ’n Fabulous Fitwear Boutique. The fabric is super stretchy and comfortable to wear but thick enough to keep everything in place. It’s rare to find printed workout wear that is so pleasant to wear, hugs your curves gently and still manages to keep the print looking colourful and vibrant, even over my butt and thighs where the fabric stretches. These are perfect for high intensity workouts and getting your body summer time ready because they’re durable and lightweight. My good friend at Fit ’n Fabulous Boutique is offering my loyal readers 10% off all products purchased (excluding shipping). All you have to do is visit Fit ’n Fabulous here, pick your favourite pair/stop of printed leggings and a matching top and use the code "fitnfab_keabe" at checkout. Coupon code is limited to one use per customer and expires on 31 May 2016.

So needed that blog post with 30 looming around the corner! No I don’t have kids and the Volvo I dream of yet. But I have travelled the world, just joined an international company to keep pushing my career ahead and a sexy younger boyfriend! By my definition I think us girls are doing just fine 😉

Hey Natasha! You just need to put into perspective. For everything you can count that you don’t have, there are 3 things you can count and be grateful for! Yeah, I think we’re doing more than just fine! 😉

My constant worry is “Where is my life going” Haai no I’m tired of it now, time to just live whilst continuously striving for the goals I have set!

That’s right. Start small, start working towards the small goals you’ve set for yourself and before you know it you’re working towards the big stuff! Stop worrying, start doing!
