Keys Fashion @ SA Fashion Week AW 16

I was lucky enough to score myself my very first invite to SA Fashion Week. No more purchased tickets! This is slow and progressive growth for me and my blog and I was and still am so grateful. I must admit, swooning over looks that you want to wrap yourself in during autumn and winter, while day time temperatures are soaring around the mid 30 degree celsius mark messes with your mind horribly, but such is fashion right? Traditionally, autumn/winter looks are showcased in the summer and spring/summer looks are showcased in the winter. Fashion weeks are held several months prior to allow buyers and the press the opportuninty to preview fashion designers’ collections in advance, as well as to give retailers enough time to arrange purchases. So what does Autumn/Winter 2016 look like according to Ryan Keys of Keys Fashion?

Key’s Fashion AW 16 collection titled ‘A Revolution of Love’ is commentary on the hatred that has engulfed people of South Africa during xenophobic attacks.  Muted tones of grey, navy, oxblood and black were a popular feature on the runway in luxurious fabrics we’ve come to love in the winter time; leather, fur and plaid. Looks went from classic and sophisticated and morphed into sexy and risqué as each model made her way down the runway. Ryan’s designs feature ready-to-wear, couture as well as bridal wear. He was able to incorporate all three into the one collection seamlessly.
