As I get older I’ve realized the importance of investing in my skincare regime. I spend a lot of money on makeup, so I should be spending even more on skincare to ensure that my skin, the foundation, is healthy and vibrant, and I’m not attempting to paint over a shitty canvas. In my teens and early twenties I was always battling acne and scaring and now that I have those two somewhat under control I want to create a skincare regime for the long term. I have okay skin. It could be better. For the daytime, I cleanse, moisturize and ensure I wear a suncream with a high SPF. I’m ashamed to say I don’t actually have a night time routine, so when Estèe Lauder gifted me with Advanced Night Repair range I was over the moon! I had long heard about the benefits of ANR and I was dying to try it out but for some reason, I always thought it was oil based and would just cause havoc on my already oily skin. This is a misconception (hint: It's not actually an oil) because after a month of using ANR products at night my skin is feeling more hydrated, softer and supple.
Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Foam - R560 for 100ml
This airy cleanser transforms into a soft, gentle foam which cleanses the skin without stripping it. It’s said to remove makeup and impurities as it purifies deep within the skin's surface to promote an overall healthy look. The cleansing foam is very gentle so I have to use facial wipes to remove my makeup first before using this cleanser otherwise I’ll need to rinse and repeat a few times before getting rid of all my makeup. On a normal, makeup-free day I can use this cleanser to remove all traces of a stressful day. I have oily/combination skin and this cleanser doesn’t leave my skin tight and taunt after a wash, which my usual, harsher cleansers usually do. My skin feels fresh, clean and comfortable.
Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II - R1175 for 50ml
As I mentioned above I always thought ANR serum was an oil. I guess the packaging had me fooled because it’s oil-free, fragrance-free and non-comedogenic which means it won’t clog your pores. It’s a cult favorite and that’s no surprise because it fights the signs of ageing which include dryness, dehydration, fine lines and wrinkles, dullness and loss of radiance. It maximises the power of skin's natural nighttime renewal by using Estèe Lauder’s exclusive ChronoluxCB™ Technology. After cleansing my skin I pat it dry and apply 2 - 3 drops of ANR on the palm of my hand, rub my palms together and massage onto my face. That's all you really need to apply to your whole face. The pipette dispenser is perfect for getting just the right amount of product out to ensure it lasts because let’s be honest, this does not come cheap. The consistency is light and non-greasy, and it absorbs entirely into my skin. When I went to visit the Estée Lauder counter I was told this was ideal to apply underneath your night cream in the evening, as well as during the day underneath your daytime moisturizer. I had no idea. I don’t have a night cream (yet) so I used it on its own. After a few months of use, I can’t say whether I see an improvement in fine lines (I didn't really have any to begin with) but I can definitely say my skin feels softer and more hydrated. My skin looks more radiant and rejuvenated.

The skin around the eyes is the most sensitive on the face and is usually the first place to give way to fine lines and wrinkles. Investing in a good eye cream is paramount to looking fresh-faced.
